Complement
Subject complement
The subject complement follows the Be verb or other linking verb and provides more information about the subject.
For example: Jonathan became a father at a young age.
- Jonathan is the subject, and a father is the complement.
Object complement
The object complement follows a transitive verb and provides more information about the direct object.
For example: Sarah considers Cindy a good friend.
- Cindy is the indirect object, and a good friend is the object complement.
